I read Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics when I live in Brighton. I read it in fits and starts, buying the collected volumes when price and funds allowed. Although, in their original published form of separate comics, they were intended to be read one at a time, I would like to read the full body of work in one go to better enjoy the interweaving of stories and character.A real treat of a day or two, just me, a big pile of Sandman volumes, some suitable music (Tom Waits' Dead and Lovely springs to mind, maybe some of the more maudlin Louis Armstrong, perhaps some Schnittke) a few canapés (of a nicely eccentric bent) and a coffee or two.
