Not so much a blog as a progress of record. The Glorious Decade is my version of those 'things to do before...' lists that we all make. The aim is to complete this list before the 31st of December 2019.

Plenty of time...

I have split the list into ten sections:

1. Travel and Holidays
2. Nature and the Countryside
3. Adventures/ Big Days Out
4. Food and Drink
5. Life
6. Things to Make and Do
7. Literature
8. Arts and Culture
9. Britain
10. The Really Quite Difficult

If you have any suggestions or want to debate or celebrate any of my choices. If you have done some of them and want to offer help or advice. Drop me a comment or two in the comment boxes.

Here are the 100 targets for The Glorious Decade.

74. A Nice Collection of Things

I am a bit of a gatherer. I like nice things. I would like, over the decade, to (to use a pretentious phrase) 'pick up a few things' to add to my little collection. A few bits of Old Hall, a Midwinter tea cup or two, a few more old cameras...

I am a sucker for design. Function is all very well and good but when something is both technically and ascetically pleasing it makes life that little bit more special doesn't it?

I suppose the best way I could quantify this choice is to say at the end of the decade the house will be full (but not overfull) of 'nice things'. That things we own are on the whole, dare I say it, fabulous. And remember, buying nice things from antique shops, car boot sales, flea markets, is a form of recycling. I am just doing my bit for the planet!
