The Prisoner is still amongst the very finest things to have appeared on television. If you are unfamiliar with it do yourself a favour and forget about the remake - go here and buy yourself a treat.
The series was filmed in Portmeirion is in essence a Mediterranean-Italian village resort but in North Wales. I have been before but there was one problem with it. The tourists. I know, I know, I was a tourist too, but it was the number of them not what they were doing. I would like to stay there for a night or two, to wake up at six in the morning and walk around a bit. Take it all in before the people turn up.
