Not so much a blog as a progress of record. The Glorious Decade is my version of those 'things to do before...' lists that we all make. The aim is to complete this list before the 31st of December 2019.

Plenty of time...

I have split the list into ten sections:

1. Travel and Holidays
2. Nature and the Countryside
3. Adventures/ Big Days Out
4. Food and Drink
5. Life
6. Things to Make and Do
7. Literature
8. Arts and Culture
9. Britain
10. The Really Quite Difficult

If you have any suggestions or want to debate or celebrate any of my choices. If you have done some of them and want to offer help or advice. Drop me a comment or two in the comment boxes.

Here are the 100 targets for The Glorious Decade.

88. Fitzpatrick's Temperance Bar, Rawtenstall

This is another 'local' choice. Fitzpatrick's is the oldest surviving temperance bar in Britain. Since 1890 it has been offering delicious alternatives to the evil of alcohol.
I want to sample their award winning Sarsaparilla, and their Dandelion and Burdock.
And then maybe go to the pub?

  1. As well as their fine cordials (try the Blood Tonic, it's supposed to be good for the joints), they also sell golliwogs in here. Actual golliwog dolls. Still worth going though.

  2. Golliwogs eh? That is not good. I may go and enjoy their drinks and when leaving say loudly "such a pity they are all racists and we can never go back again" and try to shame them into changing their stock.

    I imagine it won't work...
